And We’re Back

balmoral castle

Hello my friends and welcome to June! Apologies {again} for the radio silence. The Hubs and I just got back from a 10-day trip to the UK, the majority of it being spent in Scotland and then a quick two-nighter in London.

I’m not going to share our snapshots in order, and I have quite a few to share with you, so let’s start with one of my favorites.

First of all, Scotland is downright cold on some days in May and there’s an absurd amount of daylight; sunset isn’t until well past 9:30 and it’s very distracting when trying to get over jet lag. I’m so glad I brought a heavy fisherman knit {uh how could I not given where we were going?} and a couple of light jackets, but more on my packing strategy in another post.

Our 2nd full day in Scotland we took a drive down to Balmoral. I’m totally in love with castles, and actually more into ruins that refurbished castles, but this was so cool because the grounds are gorgeous. You can’t actually go into the castle, but walking around the gardens and learning about the history back to Victoria and Albert was awesome.
